The idea behind the LED module of both the rechargeable and standard Maglite is to increase light emission and despite this feature increase battery life.
My 3D went from 10 hours at 74 lumen to 25 hours at 240 lumen with new philips batteries.
And the Magcharger now gives 900 lumen for 2,5 hours where 240 lumen for 2 hours was the standard.
Look here for more information on the runtime.
The upgrades can be implemented in about 5 minutes without demolishing (parts of) the flashlight. This means that if you want, you can easily return to the previous condition of the flashlight when it emitted light by a bulb. With the standard edition of the Maglite only the light itself will be replaced. Conversion of the Magcharger will take somewhat longer since not only the light but also a new reflector has to be placed.
I don't only sell LED Upgrades but also several parts for Maglites and Magchargers. Therefore it's also possible to buy spare parts and other combinations of upgrades. Just ask for the prices.
